Caramel French Toast

Caramel French Toast: In a 1 quart saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter and corn syrup. Bring to a full boil, reduce heat to medium and simmer 2-3 minutes(until thickened). Pour into greased 9x13 pan. Arrange 6 slices bread over caramel, top with remaining bread. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs and vanilla. Pour over bread. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake, covered for 45 minutes.

Remove foil and bake an additional 10-15 minutes, until knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Invert to serve. Serves 8-10.

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup butter

2 tablespoons light corn syrup

12 slices bread

1-1/2 cups milk

8 eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla
