Sen. Dan Skogen chosen as Dairy Legislator of the year
Senator Dan Skogen, D-Hewitt, Minn., was selected as the 2008 Dairy Legislator of the Year by Minnesota Milk Producers Association.
"Senator Skogen is a rising start in our state legislature earning the respect of his colleagues in the Senate and on the ag committee that he serves," stated Pat Lunemann, president of Minnesota Milk Producers. "He has also earned the respect of dairy producers by listening to our needs and understanding the value we add to our state's economy, environmental and rural communities."
Sen. Skogen represents portions of Otter Tail, Wadena and Becker Counties. He was first elected to the Senate in 2006.
As a freshman Senator, he was the chief author of the Livestock Investment Grant Program and successfully ushered the bill through to final passage this last year.
