EXCELLENT OLD-FASHIONED TOMATO SOUP

2 pints stewed tomatoes

1 can chicken broth

2 tablespoons butter

3 teaspoons sugar

  

1 tablespoon onion, chopped

Pinch of soda
  

2-3 cups whole milk, heated

Salt to taste

Pepper to taste

Mix all; bring to a boil and simmer 1/2 hour. Add milk that has been heated. Heat well, but stir. Add salt and pepper.
